Mount Prospect – Jean Clarke Neubauer December 27, 1928 – November 13, 2016.  Jean passed away in Effingham, Illinois Sunday night surrounded by great love and the embrace of her family.  Jean grew up in Pittsburg, Pa where she met the love of her life, Charles Neubauer.  Charlie and Jean were married in 1956 and started a family in Kansas City MO.  Charlie and Jean then moved to Memphis TN and Mount Prospect, Illinois where they continued to raise their two daughters Laurie and Wendy.  She had a very special relationship with her two daughters.  Her faith, wisdom, unconditional love, strength, and selflessness has permeated their lives, as well as those of her seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildern.  Jean’s enthusiasm and passion for her family and friends will always be remembered. In addition to caring for her family, Jean was active with the Community Presbyterian Church and YMCA Choralettes and was a staunch Democrat in a family of Republicans.
In the early 70’s she and Charlie started their own Milex automotive business in Westchester, Illinois.  Despite a lifetime of rheumatoid arthritis, Jean had a beautiful smile and a laugh that would brighten up a room.  She had a gentle loving spirit, quick wit, sweet voice, generous heart and a wicked sense of humor.  Jean had a life long love for her many dogs, crossword puzzles, and especially the Pittsburg Steelers.  She adored singing and could hit all the high notes of the National Anthem, but her daughters have since totally forgiven her for this.
Jean was preceeded in death by her adored husband Charlie in 1984; parents William and Bessie Clarke; brothers William and Douglas; sister Helen, but leaves behind her daughters Laurie (John) Thomas, Wendy (John) Gillen, grandchildern, great grandchildern, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Services and interment will be held privately on Saturday November 19, 2016 at Friedrichs Funeral Home Mount Prospect, IL.  Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery Arlington Heights, IL.  In lieu of flowers, Jean’s family would appreciate donations in her memory to support the Arthrtitis Foundation.  Please designate your gift in memory of Jean Neubauer.  Mail to the Arthritis Foundation, 35 East Wacker Drive, Suite 2260, Chicago, IL 60601
